Signature Medicine - Center for Wellness & Healthy Aging

About Us

Meet Our Team

Ashish Sitapara, M.D.

Dr. Ashish Sitapara grew up in Richboro and is happy to be back in the neighborhood practicing medicine. He graduated from Council Rock High School and truly feels as if he is home. Dr. Sitapara did much of his medical training in the northeast. Most recently he completed a fellowship at Boston University Medical Center and served on the faculty at Harvard Medical School at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Hebrew Rehabilitation Center for the Aged, also known as HebrewSeniorLife. He is dual board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics and is now on the medical faculty at the University of Pennsylvania where he teaches a class called “Good Doctoring.” And like most things with Signature Medicine and Dr. Sitapara, this is not your typical medical course. The innovative course helps medical students have more compassion and understanding for what the patient is experiencing – especially the day to day experiences suffered from a chronic illness.

And just like the course, Signature Medicine offers a different approach to medical care. The patient experience is considered first. This is a practice where the staff gets to know the patients and works hard to offer a warm, relaxed and friendly environment. Treatment is determined by assessing your health needs with you in a partnership. Because of Dr. Sitapara’s extensive medical training, he offers primary care with an eye toward the impact of aging. This dual approach helps each patient learn lifestyle choices that will support healthy aging.

Dr. Sitapara believes that each individual has the power to achieve their own health
goals and a high level of wellness. Patients have noted him to be compassionate with a comforting, “down to earth” bedside manner. Dr. Sitapara utilizes the most up-to-date resources for evidence-based healthcare. With his characteristic sense of humor and excellent communication skills, he strives to keep his patients informed and involved in every aspect of their health care. Dr. Sitapara uses his medical assessment skills and his practical, communicative approach to work with each individual keeping them informed and involved in every aspect of their care. Recently recognized by the American Medical Association’s Leadership Award - Excellence in Medicine, Dr. Sitapara is pleased to be back in his home town and has privileges at St. Mary’s Medical Center and is the medical director at Chandler Hall Wellness Center.

Dr. Sitapara and his wife, Parula, have two young children who keep them busy and active. In his spare time, Dr. Sitapara enjoys carpentry and delving into technology. He is pleased to have Signature Medicine as a Charter Member of Pennsylvania eHealth Initiative. Dr. Sitapara also sits on the PA Medical Society’s task force for Health Information Technology. He aims to make Signature Medicine a model practice by giving all patients the highest and safest quality care by using the latest in electronic medical records and electronic prescriptions.

Parula Sitapara, Practice Administrator and Office Manager

Angela Procopio, Care Coordinator

With a complex health system, patients often need help navigating.  Angela Procopio serves as Signature Medicine’s Care Coordinator and is often the first point of contact between our patients and medical care.  Angela is a certified medical assistant and therefore has the training and skills to draw blood, perform EKGs and a variety of other clinical tasks.  In addition to her clinical capabilities, Angela understands what the patient is going through and does whatever she can to make the process easier and more convenient.  Signature Medicine feels most fortunate to have Angela as a member of the care team.
